Introducing: Seamus

Born the bastard son of a king, Seamus grew up always believing that he was destined for greatness. When his father's claim to his land was threatened, Seamus fought at his side along with his half brothers. Unfortunately, the family was wiped out. Fortunately for Seamus, while most of the others died quickly, it took him hours - long enough for the sun to go down. He was found by Aisling Kavanaugh, who turned him into a vampire. As with most young vampires, he stayed with Aisling for several years before striking out on his own. A century later, he met and fell in love with a young mortal peasant named Brighid Macneil. He turned her, thinking he would get to spend eternity with her. That was not meant to be, however. Less than a decade later, while he was away from home, the local villagers burned his house down in the middle of the day, killing Brighid who was sleeping inside. Seamus was never able to forgive himself for not bringing her with him, and blamed himself for her death. Though not as much as he blamed the villagers. Within two nights that small village was wiped completely off the map. Remembering his childhood belief that he was meant to be something great, he realized that he now literally had all the time in the world. Time to someday not just rule Ireland, as he had once believed he would do, but to wield the kind of power that a mortal mind couldn't even imagine. By the time he arrived in Sangue Collina in 2007, there were very few people who could have kept him from getting exactly what he wanted. 

About the picture: Seamus was a fun character to look for a picture for. The incongruity between his real age and his apparent age makes him quite interesting. He's perhaps the oldest vampire in the city - which would also make him probably the STRONGEST vampire in the city - and one very scary dude. Yet, to someone who doesn't know what he is, he looks like an 18 year-old kid. You would never guess by looking at him that there is any reason to be afraid of him. So, I wanted an actor that conveyed that. Someone who would look like the little kid next door - and then shock the heck out of you when you realize what he's capable of. (Kind of like my reaction to little Dakota Fanning all grown up and playing one of the scariest vampires in the Twilight universe.) So, after a short search for Irish actors under 30 I found Devon Murray. While Seamus would never wear the t-shirt in this picture, I like Devon Murray for him too much to let that bother me. One last thing I wanted to share with you. I have finally chosen a pen name. For various reasons (not the least of which being that the idea of getting to name myself was just a bit too much fun) I have chosen a name that has no relation whatsoever to my real name.
