Wewriwa 04/07/13

Welcome back. Sorry I haven't posted anything this week, life kind of got away from me. Should be back on track starting today, though. Anyway, it's time for probably my favourite post of the week - my snippet from my novel-in-progress, Eternity's Price.

Last week, we got to meet two people who seem to know something we (and the other characters) don't know. But the week before that Eli went to see Esther's body and was told that she was killed by a vampire. Today we'll be in Catie's viewpoint after she finds out what happened and goes to make sure he's okay.

The last time she had seen anyone looking so dead inside was when she had looked in the mirror the night they had found Sabrina's body. Without thinking, she ignored Marcus and the two other men she barely noticed in the room and ran to kneel at Eli's side. "Eli? Eli, honey, is there anything I can do?" She reached out to put a comforting hand on his shoulder. Then she remembered breaking Francesco's nose and nearly dislocting his shoulder. He had been bigger than her and stronger than her. If Eli snapped, he would tear her to shreds. She lowered her hand uselessly into her lap.

Ooo... a bit of backstory mixed in, too. And who the heck is Sabrina? LOL Next week we'll be back with one of they guys I like to call my little puppetmasters. in the meantime check out the other great writers over at www.wewriwa.com and enjoy this video of the song I had on repeat while writing this scene:

Thanks for stopping by. Come back tomorrow for my Positive Thinking Monday quote.

  6. Super good eight, Isabella. Watch out for 'had' in the first line. Love her caring about Eli yet worrying "snap her in two." Oh the company she keeps.

  7. Love the mix of emotion, internal dialogue and backstory. Very nicely done. The final image of her hand resting uselessly in her lap is very poignant.

  10. There is a lot going on, but it doesn't sound forced. You must have pretty extensive backstory notes; cool!
