The background and text are subject to change, but it's actually the foreground that I'm most proud of, anyway. This actually started out as two different pictures, that I combined (three if you count her pendant). So, to show you why I'm so proud of myself, right now - check this out:
THAT'S what I started out with. So, after cutting out the actual pictures from the backgrounds (especially hard with the guy, with it being in black and white...) I flipped the girl's picture so that the ring would be on her left hand, and changed the colour of the center stone. Then I got to do some serious playing with the guy's picture to change it from black and white to colour. Once that was done, I pasted both pictures into one, so that I could combine them. I put her picture in the front to get them lined up corectly, then pulled his picture to the front, and cut out his shoulder and pasted it back in as a separate layer so that I could put it behind her so that it would be behind her hands. Then, when I cropped the final picture, I ended up cutting out all of whatever the heck she's wearing, which made it look like she was naked. So, I added in a strip of colour to be the top of her dress. Finally, I airbrushed in the other shoulder and added one more picture for her pendant, and voila. Two days of work and a few headaches later, my character now looks like she has her hands on her "husband's" shoulder. She's also wearing the necklace he gave her, and her engagement ring is a traditional sapphire instead of the modern diamond.
It may seem silly, but I am very proud of myself for pulling this off.
And that is my semi-coherent ramble for today. Come back on Friday to meet Seamus, who may be the oldest vampire in the city.
Well done! I like playing around with fanart, but I'm not sure if I have the skills or the patience to pull of something like that. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. As soon as I saw that picture for her, I knew I wanted to try to do this. Pulling it off was total trial and error, though.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I just realized that now that I'm posting under my pen name, it looks like I named my character after myself. Actually, it's the other way around - I'm named after her...
